About the Role The Governance Manager is a senior individual contributor within the FIG Control & Governance vertical. This role is responsible for the independent execution of walkthroughs, Risk Control Matrix (RCM) ownership, operating effectiveness testing and issues register management across PT AIA Financial’s in-scope Finance processes. This role is critical to the delivery of the FIG ICFR programme and forms the primary execution capacity of the Control & Governance vertical. This role is also responsible for monitoring and enhancing balance sheet reconciliation quality, identifying financial exposures, and supporting the implementation of effective internal controls. Job Responsibilities: ICFR Programme Execution Lead the annual Financial Control Self-Assessment (FCSA) cycle across all processes, coordinating with process owners and control operators. Execute design adequacy and operating effectiveness testing for Key Controls designated in the ICFR Risk and Control Library (RCL). Prepare Management Self-Assessment (MSA) packs for review by the Head of FIG and Financial Controller, ensuring findings are clearly documented with remediation recommendations. Monitor control deficiencies and track remediation progress through to closure, escalating unresolved items per the ICFR escalation framework. Support Entity-Level Control (ELC) assessments as part of the annual ICFR cycle Risk and Control Library Management Maintain and update the ICFR RCL, ensuring control attributes, control owners and testing procedures remain current and aligned to the applicable financial statement line items (FSLIs). Perform periodic FSLI gap analysis to identify any new or amended financial reporting risks requiring new or revised Key Controls. Coordinate with process owners to validate the completeness and accuracy of RCL entries following process changes, system changes, or organisational restructuring Documentation and Reporting Prepare quarterly ICFR Briefing Packs for presentation to the Financial Controller and Head of FIG. Maintain the FIG SharePoint platform, ensuring timely input of testing workpapers and evidence. Produce working papers and testing documentation in accordance with the ICFR documentation standards set by the Head of FIG and traceable to PCAOB AS 2201 requirements. Maintain audit trails for all control testing activities, evidence files, and sign-offs within the FI&G digital platform Stakeholder Coordination Act as the primary liaison with process owners and control operators across Finance, Actuarial, Operations, IT and HR for ICFR-related matters. Coordinate responses to external audit queries on ICFR scope, methodology and testing results, under guidance from the Head of FIG, maintaining clear independence boundaries. Provide technical guidance to the ICFR Assistant Manager on control testing methodology, workpaper preparation, and quality review. Compliance and Governance Ensure all ICFR activities comply with AIA Group's internal control standards, OJK regulatory requirements, and applicable accounting standards (PSAK 117/IFRS 17, PSAK 109/IFRS 9). Identify changes in the regulatory and accounting standards environment that may impact the ICFR scope or control design. Support the Head of FIG in preparing submissions to the Finance Director. Job Requirement Bachelor’s degree in accounting; professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus. Strong knowledge of local GAAP, regulatory frameworks and familiarity with IFRS (including IFRS 17) and RBC requirements. Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience in accounting, including 3-5 years in external audit. Experience as external auditor is a must. Having experience in SOX audit is a plus. Demonstrated experience in statutory reporting, internal controls, and financial governance, preferably in the life insurance industry. Proven ability to engage with regulators, external/internal auditors, and senior stakeholders, including C-level executives.
