ABOUT THE ROLE You will helm ADB’s technological renaissance — leading a small, high-calibre engineering team to re-engineer how Indonesians experience insurance. We are moving beyond paper-heavy operations and legacy systems toward a data-driven, AI-enhanced, and regulation-compliant ecosystem. You will be both architect and artisan — coding alongside your team while designing scalable frameworks that fuse business needs, regulatory precision, and modern engineering practice. RESPONSIBILITIES - Architect & Build: Lead design and development of core insurance automation systems (policy issuance, claims workflow, partner integrations, and risk scoring engines). - AI Integration: Identify and implement AI applications to improve underwriting, fraud detection, and operational efficiency. - Hands-On Leadership: Guide by example — actively code, review, and deploy; not just manage. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, product, and compliance teams to ensure solutions align with OJK, PSAK 117, and internal governance. - Scalability & Reliability: Establish a robust data architecture for high-volume digital partnerships (Traveloka, DANA, Cermati, etc.). Innovation & Learning: Continuously experiment with emerging tech to optimise performance and meet regulatory standards efficiently. IDEAL BACKGROUND - 7 to 8 years of engineering manager experience in fintech, payments, P2P lending, or digital marketplaces. - Proven hands-on expertise with Node.js / Python / GO / TypeScript, modern APIs, and cloud deployment (AWS, GCP, or similar). - Familiarity with microservices, serverless architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and database optimisation. - Understanding of AI/ML integration — from LLM-based automation to predictive modelling. - Comfortable in high-growth environments — agile, data-driven, and occasionally chaotic. - Excellent stakeholder communication — able to translate tech complexities into business clarity. - Eager to learn and find creative, efficient solutions within regulatory boundaries.
